Oracle BI Suite

The Business Intelligence Suite (OBI) from Oracle is a unique product for the systematic analysis of business data. With different analysis and reporting tools company-relevant data are summarised and appropriately prepared for every user on a role-basis. In this way the Oracle Business Intelligence Suite enables the interpretation of business processes, and on that basis, enables better decisions to be taken.

Under the term Oracle BI Suite it is possible to summarise four technologies and tools:

• The Oracle BI Suite Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) makes comprehensive analysis and reporting options for company data available to customers and enables a comprehensive analysis of both Oracle-based as well as other data sources.

• The Oracle BI Suite Standard Edition (OBISE) offers a basic package with the most important BI-functions. Thanks to its price-performance relationship the Oracle BI Suite Standard Edition is especially suitable for medium-sized companies.

• The Oracle BI Publisher offers pixel-precise reporting which prepares company data using standardised templates, which enable an automated publication of statistics.

• On the basis of customer-specific analyses, Oracle Real-Time Decisions provide recommendations for action which are oriented to current and historic data.

The BI Suite uses a relational data administration where data are mapped as facts and dimensions in the form of star schema. In this way a high-performance preparation of data is made available which facilitates ad-hoc analyses. In this context, repeated daily import jobs provide a high level of actuality. With graphical interfaces it is possible to create intuitive dashboards and analyses with the security aspects ensured via a role-based allocation.
