SONOR GmbH & Co. KG produces percussion instruments of the highest quality and precision and is represented today in almost all countries of the world. Founded in Bad Berleburg in 1875 to manufacture drumheads and simple military drums, the workshop today supplies percussion instruments for drums, percussion, marching music, concert and Orff, as well as matching accessories.
The initial situation
The SQ² drum set series is SONOR's premium series. With an almost unlimited choice of shell sizes, shell constructions and finishes, it is the most individual and thus most exclusive drum kit SONOR has ever built.
Due to the large number of different variations, a way should be found to map them and, in addition, to accompany the process of configuration in a targeted manner.

The solution
A web-based configurator was created with graphical preparation of all possible configuration variants for the customers as well as a comprehensive administration area for SONOR.<br/> In addition, the goods and economic system was connected via automatic interfaces. The technical realization was done using PHP, Javascript, Ajax and MySQL.

The result
With the SQ² configurator, TRIOLOGY GmbH has succeeded in developing an appealing and intuitive tool that offers customers the option of customizing their instrument.<br/>In addition to configuring a drum kit from individual components, the tool enables the mapping of the entire ordering process via specialist dealers, the generation of parts lists and price calculation.<br/> Due to the connection to SONOR's merchandise and business system, the tool also provides important information about buyer behavior.
The configurator was in use from 2006 to 2017.
